The lane that Fash was driving was reported to have been “marked with painted arrows indicating motorists were in a right-turn lane, and two signs posted on the right shoulder advised ‘Right Lane MUST Turn Right,’” however, the arrest warranted alleged that “when she reached the intersection, Fash failed to obey official traffic control devices and collided with a raised concrete median, a Nissan Sentra and a BMW 430i driven by the victim.” The motorist that Fash collided with was later identified as David Weathersby. Weathersby “received fatal injuries as a result of the collision.”
After the fatal car accident occurred, Cobb County Police Officers were reported to have “found a smoking pipe on the dashboard of Fash’s vehicle with suspected methamphetamine residue in it” and they noted that “she appeared to be sleepy and was having difficulty speaking with medical staff.” Police obtained a sample of Fash’s blood for analysis, and it was sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Department of Forensic Science for further testing. In the meantime, Fash now faces felony charges of homicide by vehicle and possession of methamphetamine, in addition to DUI charges and other charges related to the fatal car accident. She is being held at the Cobb County Jail without bond.
